Before you install
You will need an active BulkSMS account with:
- An approved Sender ID — the name recipients see
- An API key with the
messages:sendscope, created under Integrations → API Keys in your dashboard - Credits on your account
No account yet? Create one free — new accounts start with trial credits.
Installing on WordPress
- Download the ZIP above.
- Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and choose the file.
- Activate it, then open BulkSMS TZ in the admin menu.
- Paste your API key and Sender ID, then press Send test SMS.
- Tick the events you want and write each message.
Installing on WHMCS
- Extract the ZIP into your WHMCS root — it already contains
modules/addons/bulksms_tz/. - Go to Setup → Addon Modules, find BulkSMS TZ and click Activate.
- Click Configure, add your API key and Sender ID, and tick the notifications you want.
- Open the module from Addons to check the connection and send a test.
Good to know
- Nothing sends until you turn it on. Every notification ships disabled.
- Messy phone numbers are handled.
0712345678,+255712345678and712345678all work; anything unreadable is skipped rather than guessed. - Keep messages plain. One emoji or curly quote switches an SMS to Unicode, cutting it from 160 to 70 characters per part and doubling the cost.
- Duplicates are blocked. If your platform fires the same event twice, the second is discarded instead of charging you again.
