These terms govern your use of the BulkSMS platform ("Service"), operated by Oasis Technologies Limited ("we", "us"), a company registered in the United Republic of Tanzania. By creating an account, calling our API, or sending a message through us, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
BulkSMS is a multi-tenant SMS gateway for Tanzanian mobile networks. We accept messages from you over an HTTP API or web dashboard and forward them to the destination carriers. You pay per delivered segment from a pre-funded credit balance.
2. Eligibility & KYC
You may use the Service only if:
- You are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts in Tanzania.
- You complete identity verification (KYC) and any sender-ID approvals we require before sending production traffic.
- Your business or activity is lawful under Tanzanian law and the rules of every network operator that delivers your messages.
We may refuse, suspend, or revoke access if any of the above stops being true.
3. Acceptable use
You will not use the Service to send:
- Unsolicited bulk marketing to recipients who have not consented.
- Messages to recipients on the regulator's DNC list.
- Content that is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Phishing, credential harvesting, scam codes, or anything that impersonates a third party.
- Political or religious content that targets recipients who haven't opted in to that specific topic.
You are responsible for honouring unsubscribe requests from your recipients. The Service does not automatically process inbound STOP keywords — collect and act on opt-out requests through your own channels.
4. Sender IDs
Sender IDs are subject to review by our team and, where applicable, the network operator. We will not approve a sender ID that misrepresents the originator of the message. Approval can be revoked at any time if abuse is reported, with notice to you whenever practical.
5. Credits, fees, and refunds
- SMS is billed per segment per recipient. The encoding of your message (GSM-7 vs Unicode) determines segment length.
- Credits are pre-paid and do not expire while your account is active.
- Successful sends consume credits when the message is accepted by the upstream provider. Failed sends are not charged.
- Top-ups are non-refundable except where required by Tanzanian consumer law or where we have over-charged you in error.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice. Existing credit balances are honoured at their original purchase value.
6. API keys & account security
You are responsible for the security of your API keys and account credentials. Treat them like passwords. We will never ask for them in support tickets. If you suspect a key has leaked, revoke it from the dashboard immediately — and contact hello@oasistech.co.tz if your account itself is compromised.
7. Service availability
We aim for 99.5% monthly availability of the API, measured as successful HTTP responses (excluding planned maintenance announced at least 24 hours in advance). End-to-end SMS delivery also depends on the destination network and is not guaranteed.
8. Data & privacy
Your privacy and the privacy of your recipients matter. See our Privacy Policy for details about what we collect, how long we keep it, and how it is protected.
9. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, place network operators or our platform at risk, or fail to pay outstanding fees. Where possible we will notify you first and give you a chance to correct the issue. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard or by writing to us.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by Tanzanian law, our liability to you for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the credits paid by you in the three months preceding the event. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a refreshed "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be sent to the account-owner phone or email on file.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Dar es Salaam.
