Request your sender name

Available after your first top-up. It usually goes live on every network within a few working days, and your credits wait safely until then.

Your name. Not an unknown number.

Send as MWANGA, NYOTA or UMOJA SACCO. Every name is checked and registered, so the people you message know it’s really you.

Questions? We have answers.

What does one credit buy?
One SMS of up to 160 characters, to one phone. Swahili and English cost the same. Emoji and curly quotes shorten an SMS to 70 characters, so a long one may use 2 or more credits. You see the exact count before you send, and messages a network refuses on submission are refunded automatically.
My trial SMS says BULK SMS TZ. When do I get my own name?
Trial SMS go out as BULK SMS TZ with a fixed sample message, once your ID is verified. After your first top-up, request your own name: 3 to 11 letters, numbers or spaces. We check it and register it with every network, usually in a few working days. From your first top-up until it is live you cannot send, but your credits wait and nothing is charged. Then every SMS carries your name and your own words.
Do I need a registered business to use BulkSMS?
No. Sole traders and groups can register with the owner’s or leader’s NIDA ID. Registered businesses and organisations add their registration certificate or TIN. Every account is verified before its first send.
How do top-ups work?
Pick a pack or your own amount, and enter the phone to charge. A prompt pops up on that phone. Enter your mobile money PIN and your credits arrive in seconds. Bank transfer works too; our team adds those credits by hand.
Which networks do you reach?
Vodacom, Airtel, Tigo, Halotel, TTCL and Smile. One sender name covers every network.
How is my data protected?
We do not sell your data, your recipients’ numbers or your message content — ever. ID documents are encrypted and seen only by our verification team, and every admin action is logged.
